At the New York Comic-Con last year, Top Cow Productions teased gamers with the possibility that the follow-up to their shooter, The Darkness (PS3 and Xbox 360), is in the works. But we didn’t hear anything from them regarding this for a while (15 long months to be exact), until this year’s Comic-Con, that is.
Marc Silvestri, head of Top Cow, finally confirmed what they dangled as bait in front of us last year: they are indeed working on The Darkness sequel. However, if you were hoping that Starbreeze will be on the helm of this franchise project yet again, we’re sorry to disappoint.
CEO Johan Kristiansson said that they are not the ones developing for Top Cow, this time around. “I heard that there were talks about a Darkness sequel, but Starbreeze is not involved in anything like that right now. We are busy on two projects together with EA,” he said to VG247.
While that’s all they had for us regarding the latest iteration, they did reveal that the original game will soon be added to the greatest hits value line-up for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 at US 29.99.
